About BeginnerDJ

Hi!

Well, if you’ve stumbled upon this page you probably want to get to know a little bit more about BeginnerDJ and who’s behind it.

This is me…

Muxx

I’ve been listening to Electronic ever since I can remember.

My favorite genre’s are:

  • Psytrance
  • Minimal
  • Italo Disco
  • Acid

I’m generally listening to music all day and messing about. I’m always working on projects and practicing. Oh, and my hair is getting nappy as hell now.

What’s BeginnerDJ All About?

I made BeginnerDJ about a year ago because I was just learning how to begin DJing, hence BeginnerDJ. What I wanted to do was collect all kinds of tutorials, reviews and information about DJing and the electronic music scene. Since the launch, BDJ has gone through quite a bit of ups and downs.

Basically, I let the blog die off because I was focused on some of my other projects – shame on me! However, I’ve recently revived the ol’ blog because a new fire was lit – mainly from the local raves and parties that I attend. After going to a few festivals, I knew I wanted to really put forth the effort into DJing and writing again – so here we are!

Yeah, but who the hell are you?

Ever since I could remember, I loved electronic music. I think it went well in hand with the fact that I received a computer at such a young age. I was interested in the technology behind my computing which gave me this love for the sounds that it made as well.

I can’t remember the first electronic track that I listened to but since then I’ve devoted my life to it. I can’t get enough of it.

When I finally began to make some good money I knew I had to buy some turntables. After a bit of saving, I finally picked up some Technics 1200 MKII’s from a local DJ that had an extra pair (really cool guy). This was the start of the love affair that I have today.

I seem to have picked up quite a few names: Droogie, Droogs, Ashpool, Muxx, Muxxex. Any is fine really.

Ah, that’s starting to make sense, but why start a blog?

I thought I told you this already. In some ways, I wanted to voice my progression as I learned how to DJ.

I found out that there were so many others looking for information about DJing as well, so I thought it would be a great idea to help them by collecting this information as well as writing my own posts.

So what can we expect from BeginnerDJ?

The great thing about BDJ is that I’ve met so many people from the local parties which want to help out as well.

A good friend Cognitive Function who also started DJing not too long ago is going to be helping out.

I plan to post DJing tutorials, gear reviews, album reviews, interviews and so much more about the electronic scene, so look out!
